| Why Hire a Professional Videographer? |
| |
A professional knows you only have one chance to get it right, and knows
where to be, when to be there, and what needs to be done next. This involves
having the learned skill of anticipation, which is best defined as knowing
when something is going to happen before it happens.
Most traditional family camcorder wedding video is filled with hours of
shaky footage and garbled background noise.

Memories On Video: Our forte is discreet, unobtrusive wedding
videography. This allows you to enjoy your wedding while we capture high
quality digital video in a very unobtrusive manner. Bride and Grooms miss
out on a great deal of their own wedding since they are the star of the
event and obviously can't be everywhere at the same time. The best way
that the bride and groom can relive and see what happened while they were
busy doing more important things, is to watch the wedding DVD.
We are a family team offering you up to four experienced videographers
with a very high level of professionalism and style. We capture the magic
ambiance of your special day.

| |
| Are you available for our rehearsal and wedding dates and times? |
| |
Be wary of videographers who accept
more than one assignment on any one day. They may be late to your assignment
or in a rush to get to the next one! You want their undivided attention
to your special day!
No matter how experienced the videographer is, attendance at your rehearsal
ensures that they understand the special character of your Wedding and
that it is not just another wedding to video!
It may be that the work is contracted out to others and that you are not dealing
with the person who will be recording your wedding on the day.
|
| |
| Memories On Video: We do not contract out any work. We only accept
assignments that we can deal with personally. We always attend the rehearsal
and visit the reception venue, free of charge, to ensure we know in advance
of any special needs. It is in our best interests as well as yours to
know these details in advance.

| |
| Are you a full time or part time videographer? |
| |
| Hobbyists are less likely to have the expertise and equipment to provide the quality your require.
|
| |
| Memories On Video: We are full time videographers specializing in Wedding Videos. We own
all the equipment, including essential backup cameras, necessary to produce your DVD.
|
| |
| What is your level of experience in wedding videography? |
| |
| Broadcast TV background videographers may have inappropriate expectations, [flood lights, big intrusive cameras,
music video style effects/animations]
|
| |
| Memories On Video:We specialize in unobtrusive documentary style video to record your Wedding.
We do not expect studio conditions. Only when essential do we use small video lights to enhance the picture.
|
| |
| What style of wedding video is your specialty? |
| |
| Some Wedding Videographers specialize
in lots of "Hollywood" style effects and animations which may
be what you want or you may find them distracting. Other videographers
specialize in journalistic/documentary style, recording what actually happened
and not trying to make it into something that it wasn't. Preview some
of the videographers work. Decide what style you prefer.
|
| |
| Memories On Video:We record and edit documentary style to capture the events and emotions of your special day.
|
| |
| Do you use professional equipment and techniques? |
| |
| The best video will be produced using broadcast quality
3 chip digital cameras rather than consumer cameras. But be
aware of large shoulder mounted cameras which can be very intrusive!
|
| |
| Memories On Video:We use modern small unobtrusive 3 chip digital cameras, normally tripod
mounted for steady pictures.
|
| |
| Special Effects |
| |
| Graphics, 3D animations, wild transitions, fancy special
effects, exaggerated slow motion, multi layered picture etc. Some
videographers apply a liberal application of all of the latest special effects.
|
| |
Memories On Video: Of course we can do them and we often do
for our commercial clients. We have one of the finest, best equipped studios
of any wedding production company.
But we believe that special effects and fancy graphics can easily be overused
with wedding videos. We don't want to do anything that detracts from the
real emotions, the real excitement, the real story of your wedding day.
We also believe that today's graphics will probably look dated and silly
twenty years from now.
Our approach to special effects and graphics is to be understated and
subtle. We like effects, when we use them, to grow out of the moment and
not be used just for their own sake.

| |
| Do you sub contract any work? |
| |
| You want to deal with the people who are going to do your video!
|
| |
| Memories On Video: We do not sub contract any work or equipment. You know who you are dealing with.
|
| |
| Are you licensed to use CD music? |
| |
| You want the video to be legal and not use pirated music!
|
| |
| Memories On Video: We have a current APRA license which authorises us to use your favourite
music on your DVD.
|
| |
| How many Cameras with Operators do you use? |
| |
| Two or more cameras will provide a more interesting video.
Both cameras need to be manned and not static tripod shots.
|
| |
| Memories On Video: We use two and often three manned digital cameras.
